NOTE[a]: This patch must be removed before upgrading LifeKeeper to a newer version beyond v9.5.2.


Issue(s) addressed by this patch:
1. CE-2925: NFS resource hierarchy switchover hangs when exportfs hangs.


Patch description:
This patch provides the following improvement to the LifeKeeper NFS Recovery kit:

1. This patch will wait up to 30 seconds for the exportfs command to complete before aborting the action.  A notification will be provided to the user that the process appears to have hung and may require a system reboot to clear the hang.


Download the patch:
This patch can be found on the SIOS FTP site at the following location:

To download the patch and associated files on Linux perform the following steps:
1. Run the following commands:

        wget http://ftp.us.sios.com/pickup/NFS-rpm-CE-2925-9.5.2/steeleye-lkHOTFIX-NFS-CE-2925-9.5.2-7301.noarch.rpm.md5sum
        wget http://ftp.us.sios.com/pickup/NFS-rpm-CE-2925-9.5.2/readme.txt
2. Verify the download by running the following command:
        md5sum -c NFS-rpm-CE-2925-9.5.2/steeleye-lkHOTFIX-NFS-CE-2925-9.5.2-7301.noarch.rpm.md5sum

NOTE: Alternative download methods can be used but must include all files.  Once the download is complete a verification of the md5sum should be performed.


Installing the rpm:
This patch requires the steeleye-lkNFS-9.5.2-7301.x86_64.rpm to be installed on the system.  The patch should be installed on all systems in the cluster that have that rpm.  The installation of the patch will automatically create backup copies of all patched files.  


To install the patch run the following command:

        rpm -ivh steeleye-lkHOTFIX-NFS-CE-2925-9.5.2-7301.noarch.rpm


Adjusting the hung exportfs wait time:
By default this patch waits up to 30 seconds for the exportfs command to complete before considering the command to be hung.  The wait time can be modified via the following action:

1. Edit the file /etc/default/LifeKeeper and add the following entry:
	NFSEXPORTFSTIMER=<value> Where <value> is a numerical value above the default of 30 seconds.


Uninstalling the rpm:
On removal of the patch all modified files will be returned to their original pre-patched version.

To remove the patch run the following command:

        rpm -e steeleye-lkHOTFIX-NFS-CE-2925-9.5.2-7301.noarch
