Instructions for installing Patch_PW-2505-SQLKit-8.6.4.zip

This patch includes 2 files:
C:\LK\Admin\kit\sqlapp\bin\database_sqlapp.catalog
C:\LK\Subsys\database\resources\sqlapp\actions\quickchk.ksh

Purpose:
This patch will resolve spurious SQL service false failure alerts.
The correction is to validate service state codes before evaluating them.

Installation:
Carefully follow these instructions to install both files
automatically to their correct folders in the LifeKeeper tree.  

Step1: Copy Patch_PW-2505_SQLKit-8.6.4.zip to your desktop.

Step2: Make backup copies of the 2 original script files.
Copy C:\LK\Admin\kit\sqlapp\bin\database_sqlapp.catalog
to   C:\LK\Admin\kit\sqlapp\bin\database_sqlapp.catalog.orig

Copy C:\LK\Subsys\database\resources\sqlapp\actions\quickchk.ksh
to:  C:\LK\Subsys\database\resources\sqlapp\actions\quickchk.ksh.orig

Step3: Right click on the .zip file and select "Extract All ..." 

Step4: Target the patch destination to be the LifeKeeper root folder.
Browse to the LifeKeeper root folder at C:\LK
Verify this and press the Extract Button.

Step5: Confirm folder replace to merge the patch with the existing LK tree.
Question: Do you still want to merge the folder created on with this one?
The first folder merge will be the "Admin" folder.
Check the "Do this for all current items" box.
Verify this and press the "Yes" button.

Step6 - Replace or skip files
Notice: The destination has 2 files with the same name.
Select "Replace the files in the destination".
It will already be checked, so go ahead and click on it.

The patch is now installed on this server.

Step7 - Find the updated files and notice they have
newer dates and times that do not match the original dates.
